The McDowell Sonoran Preserve in Scottsdale is a fantastic place to get out and explore the Sonoran Desert and all its glory. Whether you’re a hiker, biker, or equestrian, this preserve offers several trails. 

 

There’s something for everyone and it's FREE to enjoy by all! 

 

One of the most popular is The Gateway trailhead. This can be a good place to start thanks to its accessibility and amenities it has to offer. You’ll find parking, shaded ramadas, restrooms, drinking water & even water troughs.
